Regular eye examinations are recommended for people over 40, or if your vision is deteriorating. Medicare Australia covers the costs of eye tests for eligible cardholders - every 2 years.
For your convenience, we bulk bill Medicare.
No referral is needed - but we do advise you to make an appointment.

Conditions Detected by Optometrists
- Refracture Errors
- Myopia (Short sightedness) - when the distance vision is blurred
- Hyperopia (Long sightedness) - problems seeing near objects clearly
- Astigmatism - affects clarity of close & near vision
- Presbyopia - caused by the ageing process affecting focus at close range
- Ambylyopia (Lazy Eye) - when vision does not develop correctly in one or both eyes
Refractive errors can be corrected by wearing spectacles, contact lenses or in some cases, laser surgery.
- Glaucoma - often associated with a build-up of pressure in the eye resulting in blindness.
- Cataracts - clouding of the lens in the eye.
- Diabetes - sometimes diabetes causes the eye’s focusing mechanisms to weaken or fluctuate from day to day.
- Macular Degeneration - deterioration of the central retina.
