COVID-19 Telehealth (gvfl_vision_2020_insta_infographics_covid-19_telehealth.jpg)

It is important for us to provide quality eye care to you during this uncertain times. Tele-health Optometry is an innovative approach for you to access optometry services through remote video consultation.

While face-to-face consultation is the gold standard and the preferred mode of care, if you are restricted from travels and require URGENT eye care, please call us and discuss your need.

If tele-health consultation is a suitable solution, we would book an on-line consultation for you. The optometrist would ask you a series of simple questions and provide online tools to evaluate your condition. If you are an existing patient, we could access your case history and guide you the next steps.

Please note that the service would be privately billed and not covered under medicare.

COVID-19 and Contact Lens Wear

COVID-10 CL (covid-19-consumer-blog-banner.jpg)

There is currently no evidence to suggest that there is any increased risk of infection or contracting coronavirus through contact lens wear. Remember to follow strict hygiene measures, such as thorough handwashing, along with optimal wear and care procedures. These include replacing your lenses as prescribed, case hygiene for reusable lenses and avoiding lens wear if you are unwell (in particular with any cold or flu-like symptoms). If you are on monthly or 2-weekly lenses, discuss with your optometrist regarding dailies disposables.

Avoid touching your eyes, especially in high risk environments, and remember to ask yourself these three questions each time you wear your lenses:

  • Do my eyes feel good with my lenses? There should be no discomfort.
  • Do my eyes look good? There should be no redness.
  • Do I see well? There should be no unusual blurring with either eye.

If you have any concerns, remove your contact lenses and consult your optometrist.
