Dry Eye Clinic

Dry eye syndrome

Having dry eyes is a very common but potentially debilitating condition.  A person with dry eyes may experience:

  • itchy, irritated, gritty, red eyes

  • burning sensation

  • sticky eyes

  • blurred vision

  • persistent tired eyes

  • a pressure feeling behind the eyes

  • “watering” eyes

The discomfort can effect everyday tasks, including working at a computer or being in a windy or air-conditioned environment.  It can also make contact lens wear difficult. Long term and excessive dry eyes may cause recurring corneal erosion and chronic eyelid diseases such as Meibomian gland dysfunction and blepharitis.
