    • Hyperopia (Long sightedness) - problems seeing near objects clearly
    • Astigmatism - affects clarity of close & near vision
    • Presbyopia - caused by the ageing process affecting focus at close range
    • Ambylyopia (Lazy Eye) - when vision does not develop correctly in one or both eyes

Refractive errors can be corrected by wearing spectacles, contact lenses or in some cases, laser surgery.

  • Glaucoma - often associated with a build-up of pressure in the eye resulting in blindness.
  • Cataracts - clouding of the lens in the eye.
  • Diabetes - sometimes diabetes causes the eye’s focusing mechanisms to weaken or fluctuate from day to day.
  • Macular Degeneration - deterioration of the central retina.
